MSSA SMC 2017 Striper Contest Rules and Entry

  • November 11th. Rain date, November 12th.

  • Eligibility: MSSA SMC members and guests.

  • Location: All MD Chesapeake Bay and its tidal tributaries.

  • Entry Fee: $10 for each member and guest.

  • Awards and cash prize for ‘Biggest Striper’, (longest length), and also for ‘Largest Catch’, (combined length of two stripers), will be presented at the December 1st Holiday Party.

Rules
  • Fish must be caught in accordance with all Maryland Fishing Regulations. Fish must be caught on a rod and reel.

  • Fish photo measurement entry process: Photo must include the “event identifier “with the fish measured to 1/4” on a yard stick/tape measure etc.Place a flat object to the nose of fish and the beginning of the measurement.

  • The event identifier will be emailed to members on November 10th. The event identifier may be hand written,(TBD -Striper), if you are unable to print the page.

  • Note the size of fish 1, 2, and add them together for the total combined length and your ‘Largest Catch’ entry.
    Ties will be broken by the length of the 1st, 2nd, fish as required.

  • Registration/payment open through November 10th.Cash or check with name(s) to: MSSA-SMC 2775 Spout Lane, Lusby, MD 20657.

  • Submit entry information and photos via email to Dallen Hall panasea125@gmail.com by midnight November 11th. If the event is held on the rain date, submissions are due by midnight November 12th.

Entry Information
  1.  Anglers name

  2. General location(s) each of the fish were caught (i.e. Patuxent River, Mid Bay)

  3. Photos of the measurements with the event identifier

  4. The length of your largest striper

  5. The length of your 2 best stripers 1+2=Total Combined Length of your catch in inches

  6. Note if fish 1 or 2 were caught and released. This info is for the data sheet that must be completed and returned to MD DNR.
