SMC SPRING STRIPED BASS CONTEST                   (printable version, click here)

Entry:  Entry begins with payment for entry.

Species:  Striped Bass (Rockfish)

Measurement:  Length

Fee:  $20.00

Dates:  April 21, 2012 through May 15, 2012

Reporting:   Any fish caught for this contest that is 40 inches or longer must be reported on a DNR citation fish form, completed at an official DNR check in station. The form completed by the check-in station must have a photo of the fish and angler attached. Any fish entered in this contest that is less than 40 inches in length must be reported on the AOY weekly catch report and have a photo of the fish and angler attached.

The form and photo must be delivered to either Gary Hennig or Tom Kemp by 7 PM, Thursday, May 17, 2012.

Ties:  Fish caught on the earliest date.

Prizes:  All entry money will be awarded as follows:
50% to first place
30% to second place
20% to third place

Chapter Meetings -- The Southern Maryland Chapter of MSSA meets the third Thursday of each month at 7:00pm at the Solomons Fire Hall at Dowell Road in Solomons (13150 H.G. Truman Rd., Solomons, MD 20688). For directions, visit 

Pre-meeting activities begin at 6 pm and usually include food provided by a local vendor, lure making activities, yard sale tables as well as the sale of shads and sinkers, and the opportunity to interact with your fellow fishermen of the Southern Maryland region.

The general meeting begins at 7 pm with the evening’s speaker being first on the agenda. This is followed by discussion and announcements about various chapter events and business. The meeting concludes with the 50/50 drawing and the distribution of door prizes.
